Standings: T-1st Robinson & Zach (7-3)
3rd – Joseph (6-4)

Zach: It is that special time of year again… the month of the Super Bowl. Super Bowl 50 is almost like a deja vu for Broncos QB Peyton Manning. Two years ago in Super Bowl XLVIII, an aging Manning faced a young Seattle Seahawks team with a mobile quarterback and a stout defense. If anyone remembers that game, it did not end so well for Mr. Manning. 43-8 was the final, but it was well over before the clock struck zero.

I am not implying that the same fate is destined for Manning this time around, because it is not. The Broncos are a much different team than two years ago, ultimately due to Father Time defeating Manning in a head to head match and head coach Gary Kubiak taking over as head coach making the Broncos.

The Broncos had to become more conservative on offense to compensate for Manning’s noodle arm and sitting ducks. We also cannot neglect that the offensive line has not been what it was the year they went to the Super Bowl last. With key injuries to Ryan Clady and rookie Ty Sambrailo, Denver had to plug and play guys across the o-line.

This is one of the crucial position battles that the Panthers will dominate, with at least winning. The Panthers sport two high former draft picks in the emerging Kawaan Short and Star Lotulelei. These defensive linemen are monsters and fill the gaps for Luke Keuchly, Thomas Davis and Shaq Thompson to roam the field freely.

The Broncos have to step up and limit Cam Newton if they want to win another Super Bowl for Manning. This very well may be Manning’s last game, and he is not going to win it himself. The defense is going to have to play through injuries and stuff the Panthers offense. The Panthers run defense is not the greatest, so the Broncos should be able to at least move the ball well enough to keep it close.

Robinson: So the panthers are going to win 20-16. Super Bowl MVP will obviously go to Cam Newton because he’s gonna be Cam. The Panthers will win simply because they have an explosive offense to go with their defense. It’s going be closer than everyone thinks because the Panthers are prone to letting up big plays, but with Peyton’s dwindling arm this will be mitigated.

The Broncos defense will give the Panthers a fit, which is why the game will be low scoring, but the Broncos pass rush might be stonewalled with one of the best o-lines in the league. Overall, the panthers win simply because the Broncos defense won’t be able to Carry the offense this time around.

As we saw in the AFC championship game the Broncos offense was more than mediocre with Peyton only throwing for 177 yards and the run game being a non factor. The panthers defense will take advantage of this and the offense will do their thing because of the strength of the o-line, which will lead to the dab king’s first ring.

Robinson: Panthers 20, Broncos 16
Joseph: Broncos 24, Panthers 17
Zach: Broncos 21, Panthers 18

Predicted Super Bowl MVP’s:
Robinson: Panthers quarterback Cam Newton
Joseph: Broncos kicker Brandon McManus
Zach: Broncos linebacker Von Miller
