After three average weeks in a row, my record is now (104-72). It is not disappointing, but does not feel that great at this point. http://games.espn.go.com/nfl-pigskin-pickem/2015/en/entry?entryID=26891
With that being said, week 13 is steadily approaching and there are a few division and wild card races that are wide open; particularly the AFC wild card with the Jets, Chiefs, Steelers, Bills and Raiders, the AFC South division with the Colts and Texans, the disgusting NFC East division with the Redskins and Giants, the NFC North with the Packers and Vikings and the NFC wild card involving the Falcons, Buccaneers and Seahawks. Nothing is set in stone and it makes the NFL all that more exciting.
Unfortunately, this season has had awful luck with injuries as star players continue to fall one by one. The officiating has been atrocious this season that it makes me miss the replacement referees, but that is another story. Aside from this, the season is shaping up for an interesting finish. For example, it would be nice to see teams like the Vikings unseat the Packers as the division champion.
Now, here are my NFL and DFS picks for week 13:
Detroit Lions 23, Green Bay Packers 22
This is kind of a gut pick. I like the Lions because they are on fire right now and are trending up after their coaching and personnel changes, whereas, the Packers are trending down after some ugly losses to the Lions and the Bears AT HOME. They beat the Vikings on the road convincingly, but rolled over to the Bears. The Lions annihilated the sad excuse that is the Philadelphia Eagles. I just do not believe that the Packers have their act together in all honesty. They are on the road, the second Thursday Night game in a row. It just looks like a loss to me. Rodgers is a little banged up. The offensive line is REALLY banged up. At least Eddie Lacy has returned to form, but the Lions seem to have figured out their issues while the Packers have not.
Detroit DFS Picks: WR Calvin Johnson (excellent matchup against rookie corners), QB Matt Stafford, RB Theo Riddick
Green Bay DFS Picks: RB Eddie Lacy, WR’s Davante Adams & James Jones, QB Aaron Rodgers (only because the ball will be in his hands a lot. He is not worth his Draft Kings price)
