As of last week, I posted the same record again at (7-7), upping my record to (96-64). Here is a link to my NFL picks on ESPN for proof. http://games.espn.go.com/nfl-pigskin-pickem/2015/en/entry?entryID=26891
Week 11 was a chance for teams to close the gap against some of their competition. Teams like the Houston Texans, Jacksonville Jaguars, Tampa Buccaneers and Green Bay Packers made a statement that they should not be counted out.
Looking forward to week 12, this is Thanksgiving week and we get to see some all day Thursday football. Here are my picks and analysis for another exciting series of NFL games.
Philadelphia Eagles 23, Detroit Lions 20
According to recent reports, Chip Kelly has lost his locker room. The Eagles team no longer backs him even though the Eagles still have a good chance at winning the NFC East and with six games remaining. This spells trouble for Philadelphia as they travel to the Lions den. Detroit is beginning to figure things out, or at least rebound from utter disaster. The Lions upset the new look Raiders last week by shutting down Derek Carr and their offense. If the Lions can keep the Eagles’ pass rush away from Stafford, they can win another game. But… The Eagles are much better defensively than the Raiders who rank in the bottom five on that side of the ball. The Lions struggled to score in that previous week.
DFS Philadelphia Picks: RB Darren Sproles, WR Jordan Matthews, Eagles D/ST
DFS Detroit Picks: QB Matthew Stafford, WR’s Calvin Johnson & Golden Tate
Carolina Panthers 30, Dallas Cowboys 22
Surprisingly, the Cowboys are Vegas favorites against one of the two remaining undefeated teams. While the Panthers are not a great team, they are winning football games. Yes, they are 10-0, but they seem like the team that could easily be upset in the playoffs. Regardless, this is not a game the Cowboys can win. The Panthers average 29 points a game and limit teams to 19 points. Cam Newton is too dynamic to stop. I think the ‘Boys can slow him down, but he is too tough to stop entirely.
DFS Carolina Picks: QB Cam Newton, RB Jonathan Stewart, TE Greg Olsen, WR Devin Funchess
DFS Dallas Picks: RB Darren McFadden, WR Terrence Williams
Due to Thanksgiving plans and their complications, I did not analyze the early action on Sunday.
Arizona Cardinals 31, San Francisco 14
The 49ers’ season is a disaster. Quarterback Colin Kaepernick has gone from bad to worse as the season progressed. While Blaine Gabbert has showed some signs of life, he is not the answer to the woes in San Francisco. The Cardinals will make easy work of the 49ers’ defense. Palmer has looked like his young self again with all the weapons around him. The best asset to the 49ers is their run defense, but the Cardinals will be able to expose all of their weaknesses.
DFS Arizona Picks: QB Carson Palmer, RB Chris Johnson, WR Larry Fitzgerald, Cardinals D/ST
DFS San Francisco Picks: RB Shaun Draughn, TE Vance McDonald
Pittsburgh Steelers 34, Seattle Seahawks 31
Are you crazy???? The Seahawks and Steelers are going to put up 65 points? Well, I am crazy. I changed my pick from the Lions to the Eagles and said use the Eagles D/ST. But… The Steelers are not going to be able to defend Russell Wilson and the pass, so the answer is to outscore the Seahawks. In Seattle, it will be tough. It will be an air fest as Ben Roethlisberger will get tons of chances to pass, similarly to Wilson. As fans, we finally get to see the best corner in the league battle it out against the best receiver in the league. Enjoy Richard Sherman vs. Antonio Brown.
DFS Pittsburgh Picks: QB Ben Roethlisberger, WR Antonio Brown, TE Heath Miller
DFS Seattle Picks: QB Russell Wilson, WR’s Doug Baldwin & Tyler Lockett
